Airport Lounge Pass - Lap It Up In Luxury!
Airport Lounges aren't just for the rich and famous. In fact the airport lounge pass is becoming so affordable these days, that you can relax in luxury for just a fraction of the price!
Airports are never a fun experience and with the trend of delayed flights and stopovers becoming ever more prevalent, the idea of having somewhere nice to sit and pass the time sounds like an AMAZING idea.
So what is the big deal with airport lounges, what makes them SO fun?
First of all it's a place to rest your feet after a day of long queues, customs, security checks and travel stress. Airport lounge access gives you a private area to sit, relax and pass the time until you have to cram yourself back into an uncomfortable airport seat and a long journey.
Secondly, there's entertainment! There's nothing worse than watching the clock for 3, 4, even 5 hours as you wait for your delayed flight to finally appear on the board! There's only so many books you can read, songs you can listen to and airport news channels you can bear before you start to go insane! The level of entertainment will vary from lounge to lounge but in most of them you will find wireless internet, television, newspapers and magazines !
If that's not enough to sway you then surely the air conditioning, complimentary food, alcoholic, non alcoholic beverages and even SHOWER facilities will! The thought of being able to take a shower in before a flight sounds like BLISS to me, and I'm sure many others!
I bet you're thinking this sounds like something only celebrities of this world can afford
Don't worry; I thought the EXACT same thing until I discovered this program called Lounge Pass just before my last trip to Cyprus. Airport Lounge Pass is a program that gives you exclusive access to 130 airport lounges around the world. If you know you've got a trip coming up, you simply go to Lounge Pass, enter in the airport you will be flying from/to, the details of the people in your party and then you hit "Book"!
You will have access to airport lounges all around the world with an airport lounge pass and in hundreds of different cities! You can browse each destination, each city, the airports and then of course the lounge facilities within those airports.
So, if you're looking for a cheap airport lounge, prices start from as little as 14GBP. And for a few hours of comfort and an escape from the perils of the airport, I think it's 100% worth it! Remember that for the price of a plastic airport lunch, you can kickback, watch TV, read a magazine (sometimes expensive ones which you can keep) and escape the general public that cram into an airport every day! In fact here are some of the benefits on offer with the airport lounge pass:
- Enjoy a quiet drink with the family or friends, away from the hustle and bustle of the main gates
- Sit back in comfort and watch TV, read the complimentary newspapers and magazines on display
- Keep in touch and get connected with the fax machine, telephone, WiFi and even power points for your laptop
- Tuck into the unlimited snacks, fruit, tea, coffee and the well stocked complimentary bar
- Stylish surroundings and Toilet Facilities
- Separate children's area with computers and play stations
- Baby Changing
- Shower Facilities
Please note, some facilities vary from lounge to lounge.
Are the Lounges Family Friendly?
In fact the better lounges are the Gatwick lounges, particularly London Gatwick North. Servisair opened a very contemporary lounge there in August 2008, open from 05:00-22:00 hrs daily. There are two unique zones; the relaxation zone and the fun zone.
The relaxation zone is primarily for adults who are looking to chill out and kick back just before their flight. The fun zone is made up of a soft play area targeted for young kids. However, there are games consoles and a TV to watch films and cartoons for the bigger kids.
The Gatwick Airport North Terminal Executive Lounge is available to families with children of any age. However, the South Terminal Executive Lounge is only available for families with children over the age of 12. More and more airports are now catering for families on their travels.
Is the WiFi Free?
Servisair are currently the only non-airline lounge operator to offer free WiFi. Apart from Gatwick Airport, here's a list of the other Servisair lounges offering this free facility:
- Manchester, Terminal 1 and 2
- Newcastle
- Leeds Bradford
- Birmingham, Terminal 1
- East Midlands
- Humberside
- Inverness
What's Larnaca Airport Lounge Like?
The Cyprus Airways lounge is open to all passengers, is family friendly and is located in the Departures Hall, accessible by both lift and stairs. The daily flight schedules dictate the hours of operation. Here is a list of the facilities:
- Complimentary soft drinks
- Well stocked bar
- Tea, coffee and refreshments
- Air conditioning and showers
- TV, telephone, fax, Wi-Fi
- Flight information monitor
- Newspapers and magazines
Knowing that you have your place booked in the airport executive lounge for when you touch down is something that will make the whole journey just a bit more exciting - not to mention a LOT more comfortable for you and your family! Start your trip in VIP style and book an airport lounge pass for your upcoming holiday.
