Dropping someone off and leaving the car in the Airport car park?

The first 20 minutes were free. However, it cost 2 Euros up to 30 minutes and 3 Euros if staying for an hour.

Long Term Parking

There was long term parking located around 8km from the airport and this facility operated 24/7. There was free transport to and from the airport via a shuttlebus. It cost you around 6 euros a day for the first 7 days and around 4.30 euros a day after that. Covered parking was provided for that bit extra.

There was a food village upstairs, the stairs located immediately as soon as you entered the main doors. Here you could find a pizza restaurant with salad bar. Also, a cafe that served freshly squeezed orange juice and steaming hot croissants. Departure and arrival times were displayed on monitors overlooking the large seating area. There were two flatscreen TV's to keep you entertained.

Downstairs the following facilities were available:

  • Post office
  • Ticket Sales for major airlines
  • Espresso Bar
  • Customer services
  • Haggen Dazz ice cream parlour

This Airport is Cyprus's main International gateway and now has one old passenger terminal building (wound down in late 2009) with another new terminal (Zenon), newly built and fully functional. It is the larger of the country's two commercial airports, Paphos International Airport being the other airport on the South West coast. Larnaca airport opened in 1975 after the forced closure of Nicosia International Airport.

This new Zenon terminal opened it's doors on 11th November 2009. It was actually the largest European airport opening in 2009.

It is one of the largest construction contracts carried out in the Republic of Cyprus. Larnaca Airport arrivals is now a brand new experience with exceptional facilities. Click on the link below for your guided tour around the new Larnaca Airport...
