It was early September and the crowds flocked towards the tangle of chutes. This was WaterWorld Water Park in Ayia Napa in Cyprus, ‘the’ water park Cyprus. But, did the rides really live up to the title? ![]() Something for the adrenaline junkiesAeolos Whirlpool is definitely one of highlights from this famous water park. After 4 seconds of pitch darkness in the flume you're sent on a spinning frenzy, slightly disoriented. After making concentric circles with the new style global flume you drop like a ragdoll into a plunge pool or what looks like a giant plug hole. The Kamikaze slides, Zeus Zenith and Mount Olympus are probably the most intimidating slides on show. Just looking at them will put the fear of god in you. Two towering monsters of slides, one of which is just a sheer drop! Something for the faint heartedThose who prefer something more leisurely will appreciate Apollo's Plunge. This is aimed towards the young families. It's a raft ride, with twists, turns and a bit of spinning around in a rubber ring. Chariot Chase is another tame ride, but with a difference. It's a multi slide chase where 4 people race each other, where you lie down on a rubber mat head first, cascading down a rolling flat surface. For the youngstersThe kids will be loving the Trojan Adventure, a children’s play centre in the shallow end of the pool. There's a huge bucket that fills with water and soaks everyone in its path, not to forget the games and activities that create various water effects. Pegasus Pool and Atlantis Activity Pool would also be ideal for kids as it's shallow with lots of soft toys and rolling foam logs to muck around with. The above are just a sampler of the 18 attractions on offer, from the best water park Cyprus. Facilities
Food and DrinkAll that fun gives you such an appetite, so thankfully there's some great restaurants and snack bars.
You won't go far wrong with the Chicken Royal and Large Coke from Homers Burger palace. This was 7.30 Euros to give you some indication of prices. Any Bad Points? Some rides require 2 people (minimum, 2 people per rubber ring). So, if you're thinking of chilling out on your own, you will miss out on The Fall of Icarus and Drop to Alantis, 2 incredible rides. The Lockers are an extra at 5.50 Euros. It can be an expensive day out for a full family, but well worth it though. There are discounts to be had if you look for them or book online. WaterWorld is located in Ayia Napa, the last stop on the main bus route from Paralimni to Ayia Napa. It has a Greek Mythology theme and is the one of largest water parks in Cyprus and Europe. It's open from 10am to 6pm daily, May to October and will set you back 30 Euros for Adults and 16 Euros for children under 12 years old.
